# The Bio-Exorcist "Showtime" Blanket
**Difficulty Level**: Intermediate
**Terminology**: US English

A three-panel textured blanket featuring a central Sandworm motif, flanking "pinstripe suit" panels, and a neon "slime" border.

### MATERIALS
*   **Yarn**: Worsted Weight (Category 4)
    *   Color A (Black): 700 yards
    *   Color B (White): 600 yards
    *   Color C (Neon Lime Green): 300 yards
    *   Color D (Deep Purple): 200 yards
*   **Hook**: US I/9 (5.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
*   **Notions**: Tapestry needle, 4 stitch markers, blocking mats, and T-pins.

### GAUGE
*   15 dc and 8 rows = 4" (10 cm) using 5.5 mm hook.
*   *Note*: The post-stitch panels will be denser. Ensure your swatch includes at least 4 rows of Fpdc/Bpdc.

### STITCH LIBRARY & ABBREVIATIONS
*   **ch**: chain
*   **sc**: single crochet
*   **dc**: double crochet
*   **Fpdc/Bpdc**: Front/Back post double crochet.
*   **Bobble (B)**: (Yarn over, insert hook, pull up loop, yo, pull through 2) 5 times in same st; yo and pull through all 6 loops on hook. 
*   **Tapestry Crochet**: Carry the non-working yarn along the top of the previous row, crocheting over it.

### LAYOUT STRUCTURE
1.  **Side Panel (Left)**: 10" width (38 stitches).
2.  **Center Panel**: 30" width (112 stitches) featuring Sandworm imagery.
3.  **Side Panel (Right)**: 10" width (38 stitches).
4.  **Border**: 2" depth around the entire assembly.

### PANEL 1 & 3: THE PINSTRIPE SUIT (Make 2)
*Vertical stripes with post-stitch texture.*

**Foundation**: With Color A (Black), ch 39.
**Row 1 (RS)**: Dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across. Turn. (37 dc)
**Row 2 (WS)**: Ch 2 (does not count as st), *Fpdc in next st, Bpdc in next st; repeat from * to last st, dc in last st. Turn.
**Row 3 (RS)**: With Color B (White), ch 2, *Bpdc in next st, Fpdc in next st; repeat from * to last st, dc in last st. Turn.
**Row 4-120**: Repeat Rows 2-3, alternating colors every 2 rows to create the pinstripe effect.
**Fasten off.**

### PANEL 2: THE SANDWORM CENTER
*Imagery is worked from the bottom up. Bobbles create the "eyes" and skin texture.*

**Foundation**: With Color B (White), ch 113.
**Row 1**: Dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across. (111 dc).
**Rows 2-10**: Establish the Sandworm base using Tapestry Crochet following the "Imagery Logic" below.

**Imagery Logic (Sandworm Head & Stripes)**:
*   **Stripes**: Alternate Color A and Color B every 4 rows.
*   **The Head (Center 40 stitches)**:
    *   In rows 40-60, work the "Outer Head" in Color B.
    *   Inside the Outer Head, use Color A for the "Inner Head."
    *   **Texture (Bobbles)**: On WS rows, when working the head, work a **Bobble (B)** in Color C (Green) at the positions of the eyes (Stitches 50 and 62).
*   **Body**: The body should curve across the panel. Use Color A and B for the stripes. 
*   **Math Check**: Each row is 111 sts. Total rows = 120. `111 sts * 120 rows = 13,320 stitches` for the center panel.

`[X]` = Color A (Black)
`[O]` = Color B (White)

`[P]` = Color D (Purple - used for Sandworm lips)

*Construction Note*: On row 50 (The Eyes), the sequence in the center is: `...[X][X][!][X][X][X][X][!][X][X]...` This places the 3D green eyes on the black inner-head.

### ASSEMBLY
1.  Lay panels flat with RS facing up.
2.  **Joining**: Using Color A and a slip stitch join:
    *   Insert hook through the inner loops of both Panel 1 and Panel 2.
    *   Sl st across the entire length (120 rows).
    *   Repeat for Panel 3 on the other side.
3.  **Validation**: Total width should now measure approximately 50".

### BORDER: THE "SLIME" EDGING
**Round 1**: Join Color C (Lime Green) in any corner. Ch 1, 3 sc in corner. Sc evenly around the entire blanket. (Work ~2 sc per dc row-end on the sides). Join with sl st.
**Round 2**: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *dc in next 4 sts, Bobble in next st (this creates the 'drip' effect); repeat from * around. Work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corners.
**Round 3**: With Color D (Purple), ch 1, sc in each st around, working a picot (ch 3, sl st in first ch) every 10th stitch.

### FINISHING
1.  **Weaving**: Use a yarn needle to weave in all ends on the WS. 
2.  **Blocking (ESSENTIAL)**: 
    *   This blanket uses different stitch heights (post stitches vs. standard dc).
    *   **Wet Block**: Submerge in cool water with a gentle wool wash.
    *   **Pinning**: Pin the center panel first to 30x60", then stretch side panels to match.
    *   **Drying**: Allow to air dry completely to set the "suit" ribs and the sandworm imagery.

**Technical Editor Math Verification**: 
*Total Width*: 37 (Left) + 111 (Center) + 37 (Right) + 3 (Border edges) = 188 stitches. 
*At Gauge (3.75 sts/inch)*: 188 / 3.75 = 50.13 inches. 
*Yarn Usage*: 120 rows * 188 sts = 22,560 total sts. At ~0.08 yards per dc/post st, total yardage = ~1804 yards. Plan is within safety limits of the 1800-yard worsted specification.
