# The Disciplined Warrior: Kung Fu Master Amigurumi

## 1. Pattern Information
**Description:** A stoic martial arts master wearing a traditional white Gi and black belt.
**Difficulty Level:** Intermediate
**Finished Size:** Approximately 22cm tall.

## 2. Materials & Tools
*   **Yarn:** Worsted / Aran weight acrylic or cotton yarn.
    *   Colour A: White (Gi/Uniform)
    *   Colour B: Skin Tone (Beige/Tan/Brown)
    *   Colour C: Black (Belt and Shoes)
    *   Colour D: Red (Headband - optional)
*   **Hooks:** 
    *   3.5mm hook (for body parts to ensure tight tension)
    *   4.0mm hook (for the jacket/Gi)
*   **Notions:** 
    *   Polyester fibre stuffing
    *   9mm safety eyes
    *   Tapestry needle
    *   Stitch markers
    *   Black embroidery thread (for facial details)

## 3. Tension (Gauge)
20 stitches and 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm over double crochet using 3.5mm hook.
*Note: Tension is not critical for this toy, but stitches must be tight enough so stuffing does not show through.*

### Body

### Arms (Make 2)
*Use 3.5mm hook. Start with Colour B (Skin Tone).*

**Rnd 3:** 1 dc in each st around. [9 sts]
*Change to Colour A (White) for sleeves.*
**Rnd 4-10 (7 rnds):** 1 dc in each st around. [9 sts]

*Lightly stuff the hand only. Flatten top of arm and dc through both layers to close.*

### Gi Jacket (Removable)
*Use 4.0mm hook for better drape. Use Colour A (White). Worked in rows.*

**Row 1:** Ch 25. dc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Turn. `[Check: 25 - 1 = 24 sts]`
**Row 2:** (3 dc, inc) 6 times. Turn. `[Check: 24 + 6 = 30 sts]`
**Row 3:** (4 dc, inc) 6 times. Turn. `[Check: 30 + 6 = 36 sts]`
**Row 4 (Armholes):** 5 dc, ch 6, skip 6 sts, 14 dc, ch 6, skip 6 sts, 5 dc. Turn. `[Check: 5 + 6 + 14 + 6 + 5 = 36 sts equivalent width]`
**Row 5:** dc in each st and ch across. Turn. [36 sts]
**Row 6-12:** dc in each st across. Turn. [36 sts]
*Fasten off, weave in ends.*
*Note: This creates a wrap-style jacket.*

### Belt
*Use 3.5mm hook. Colour C (Black).*
**Row 1:** Ch 45 (or long enough to wrap around waist twice).
**Row 2:** ss in each chain across.
*Fasten off.*

### Hair Cap
*Use 3.5mm hook. Colour C (Black).*
**Rnd 1-7:** Repeat Rnds 1-7 of Head pattern (expanding to 42 sts). `[Check: 6 -> 12 -> 18 -> 24 -> 30 -> 36 -> 42]`
**Rnd 8-11:** 1 dc in each st around. [42 sts]
**Rnd 12:** ss in next st, (skip 1, 5 tr in next, skip 1, ss in next) repeat around to create texture/spikes.
*Fasten off leaving long tail to sew to head.*

## 6. Assembly & Finishing
1.  **Face:** Embroider eyebrows using black thread to give a determined "Kung Fu" expression (slanted downwards).
2.  **Hair:** Sew the Hair Cap onto the head.
3.  **Arms:** Sew arms to the body at Rnd 27/28.
4.  **Dressing:** Put the Gi Jacket on the doll.
5.  **Belt:** Tie the black belt firmly around the waist to hold the jacket closed.
6.  **Headband (Optional):** Chain 40 in Red, tie around the forehead.
