Cuff: Cast on 64 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist stitches. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 1.5 inches (4cm).
Leg: Switch to stockinette stitch and knit every round until the leg measures 6 inches (15cm) from the cast-on edge.
Heel Flap: Work the heel flap over 32 stitches in stockinette stitch for 2 inches (5cm).
Heel Turn: Row 1: (RS) K18, SSK, K1, turn. Row 2: (WS) Sl1, P5, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 3: Sl1, K to 1 stitch before the gap, SSK (with the stitch before the gap and the first stitch after the gap), K1, turn. Row 4: Sl1, P to 1 stitch before the gap, P2tog (with the stitch before the gap and the first stitch after the gap), P1, turn. Repeat these 2 rows until all heel stitches have been worked, ending with a WS row.
