Materials:

• Yarn: Light worsted weight yarn (UK: DK, AUS: 8 ply), 50g in main color, small amounts in 2-3 contrasting colors
• Crochet Hook: US G/6 (4mm) or size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• 9mm safety eyes
• Polyester fiberfill

Body:

With main color yarn, start with a magic ring

Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)

Round 2: inc in each st around (12)

Round 3: [sc, inc] around (18)

Round 4: [2 sc, inc] around (24)

Round 5: sc in each st around (24)

Round 6: [3 sc, inc] around (30)

Round 7-12: sc in each st around (30)

Round 13: [3 sc, dec] around (24)

Round 14: [2 sc, dec] around (18)

Round 15: [sc, dec] around (12)

Stuff the body firmly

Round 16: dec around (6)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Pull tail through the remaining stitches and pull tight to close the hole.

Tentacles (Make 8):

With contrasting colors, ch 25. Fasten off.

Attach tentacles evenly around the bottom of the body.

Finishing:

Attach safety eyes between rounds 10 and 11, about 4 sts apart. Embroider a smile below the eyes.
