20 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch using US 8 needles

This pattern is for a size medium. The finished bust circumference is approximately 36 inches.

Pattern:

  1. Back: Using US 6 needles, cast on 94 stitches. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 1 inch.
  2. Change to US 8 needles and stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) until the piece measures 14 inches from cast on edge.
  3. Shape armholes: Bind off 5 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Continue in stockinette stitch until armhole measures 8 inches.
  4. Shape shoulders: Bind off 5 stitches at the beginning of the next 4 rows. Bind off remaining stitches.
  5. Front: Work the same as the back until armhole measures 7 inches.

  8. Change to US 8 needles and stockinette stitch. Increase 1 stitch at each end every 8th row 9 times. Work even until sleeve measures 18 inches. Bind off.
  9. Finishing: Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams. Weave in all ends.
