Bunny Love Knitted Toy Pattern

Description

Materials

18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch using larger needles.

Instructions

Body

1. Using smaller needles, cast on 24 sts.
2. Work in stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) until piece measures 2 inches.
3. Change to larger needles.
4. Knit 2 rows.
5. Next row: K2, k2tog, knit to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2.
6. Knit 5 rows.
7. Repeat steps 5-6 until 18 sts remain.
8. Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 8 inches.
9. Begin decrease:
• Row 1: K2, k2tog, knit to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2.
• Row 2: Purl.
• Repeat rows 1-2 until 6 sts remain.
10. Break yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches, pull tight, and secure.

Ears

1. Using smaller needles, cast on 12 sts.
2. Work in stockinette stitch for 3 inches.
3. Next row: K1, k2tog, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.
4. Knit 1 row.
5. Repeat steps 3-4 until 4 sts remain.
6. Break yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches, pull tight, and secure.

Assembly

1. Using the tapestry needle, sew the bottom of the body closed.
2. Stuff the body firmly with polyester fiberfill.
3. Using the tapestry needle, sew the top of the body closed.
4. Attach the ears to the top of the body, approximately 1 inch apart.
5. Embroider the facial features using black embroidery floss or yarn.
