Chibi Amigurumi Doll — Nezuko-inspired (approx. 6\")
Bright, small and simplified: this pattern makes a chibi-style amigurumi doll about 6 inches tall with big cute eyes, long black hair, a pink kimono-like dress, and a tiny bamboo accessory. Hook and Needle Sizes

- Slightly larger (looser fabric / sport yarn): US C-2 (2.75 mm) / UK 12 / Metric 2.75 mm
- Alternative: US D-3 (3.25 mm) / UK 10 / Metric 3.25 mm
Use a tapestry needle in a size appropriate for sewing seams and weaving ends.
Gauge & Finished Size
Gauge is not critical for amigurumi but aim for tight stitches: approx. 10 sts x 12 rows = 2" x 2" with chosen hook. Finished height assembled: ~6 inches (15 cm).

Skirt / Kimono body shaping
If you want a flared skirt, after attaching legs to body bottom, work a round of increases around lower body to flare: (sc 1, inc) around until even. Optional decorative surface crochet or embroidered hexagon prints may be added with contrasting yarn (dark pink).
Obi (belt) - dark pink
- ch 14, join to work in rounds or sc back and forth 12–14 rows to get a small rectangle. FO leaving tail to sew into place around waist.
Sleeve cuffs and collar
- Make two tiny rectangles in cream/white for inner collar and attach at center front of neck.
- Sleeve cuffs: optional dark pink slip for the sleeve edge. Sew onto edge of sleeve tube.
Hair
The hair is a major style element: make a cap, fringe, and long back panels. Use black yarn.
- Hair cap (fits head): MR 6 sc (6)
- inc around (12)
- (sc1, inc) x6 (18)
- (sc2, inc) x6 (24)
- (sc3, inc) x6 (30)
- (sc4, inc) x6 (36)
- sc around 3 rounds (36 x3)
- BLO for 2 rounds to create a neat edge (36 x2)
- Try on head and mark front center, ear positions and hairline. FO leaving long tail to sew.
Fringe / side bangs: make small strips
- Chain 6–10, sc back along chain, FO. Make 6–8 pieces of varying lengths for chibi bangs. Attach across forehead, stagger lengths. For longer side pieces, chain 20–30, DC or hdc back to create flowing panels; attach at temples.
Back hair: create 2–3 long panels to form the long straight hair. Method A (fast): Cut many long strands (about twice desired finished length) and loop them into rows along a knitted/crocheted hair strip or directly into hair cap to give fullness. Method B (panel): Crochet wide panels: ch 10, work hdc back and forth 40–60 rows (or until length ~7–8 inches before folding for thickness). Make two panels; seam center and attach to back of hair cap. Taper edges by decreasing stitches near ends for natural shape.
Optional small hair ribbon: use a short band of dark pink and a tiny bow in green or contrasting color. secure at top of hair or side.
Bamboo accessory (tiny gag)
Simple crocheted tube: green yarn.
- MR 6 sc (6)
- sc around 4–6 rounds (6 x4–6)
- Optionally add two rounds in lighter green for banding or embroider darker lines to mimic bamboo. DO NOT OVERSTUFF; leave a small opening to sew closed and attach a short strap (chain 6) to sew to head/side of mouth. FO and weave in ends.
Assembly
- Sew head to body: align neck opening and sew with mattress stitch or whipstitch, stuffing head firmly as you close.
- Position hair cap over head and stitch in place around hairline. Attach fringe pieces to forehead and sides before closing cap completely.
- Sew long back hair panels onto cap center back. If using looped strands, attach them row by row to the cap opening for full coverage. Trim and shape ends for even look.
- Sew arms to sides of body just below neck seam. For slightly forward pose, stitch the top of arm to front body by a few stitches.
- Sew legs to bottom of body so doll sits or stands (chibi proportions typically sit better). Position evenly so skirt covers join seams.
- Sew obi around waist: wrap and tack at back in a small flat knot or bow. Add small decorative stitches to center front to mimic kimono tying.
- Sew bamboo gag under mouth: attach a short chain loop to the tube and sew to face so it sits across mouth area. For safety, ensure it is securely stitched and not a choking hazard if intended for small children.
Face & Finishing Touches
- Embroider lashes: 2–3 short angled stitches at top of each eye for cute look.
- Add white highlights on eyes using embroidery or small felt circles glued/sewn in place.
- Securely weave and hide all yarn tails. Trim stray fibers and shape hair with small scissors.
- Optional: very light surface embroidery hex patterns on pink kimono using running stitch and contrasting dark pink.
Safety & Care
- If the doll is for a child under 3, avoid safety eyes and small accessories. Embroider eyes and firmly stitch all pieces. Avoid small removable parts.
- Hand wash gently in cool water and lay flat to dry.
Customization Ideas
- Change eye color or style (felt applique, embroidered, or safety eyes).
- Add tiny wire inside arms for posability (wrap wire first with tape).
- Surface-crochet or embroider kimono patterns to mimic traditional motifs.
Pattern tested at chibi scale. Adjust hook or yarn weight to change size. If using thicker yarn, use a smaller hook for a tight fabric.
