Materials

Gauge

22 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch using larger needles

Size

Adult Small (Medium, Large, XL, XXL)
Finished Chest Measurements: 36 (40, 44, 48, 52) inches

Instructions

  1. Using MC and larger needles, cast on 100 (110, 120, 130, 140) stitches. Work in 2x2 ribbing for 2 inches.
  2. Switch to smaller needles. Begin Fair Isle pattern:

Round 1: With MC, knit.
Round 2: With CC1, knit.
Round 3: With MC, knit.
Round 4: With CC2, knit.
Continue in pattern following chart until piece measures 16 (17, 18, 19, 20) inches from cast on edge, ending with a CC4 round.

  1. Shape armholes:

Next round: With CC4, bind off 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) stitches, knit to end.
Next round: With MC, knit to last 2 stitches, k2tog.
Repeat the last 2 rounds 4 more times.

  1. Continue working even in stockinette stitch until armholes measure 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5, 9) inches, ending with a wrong side row.
