Loon Fair Isle Northern Lights Sweater Pattern

Materials:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in 3 colors - Navy Blue (200g), Light Blue (150g), White (100g)
- Needles: US 6 / UK 8 / 4mm and US 8 / UK 6 / 5mm knitting needles
- Tapestry needle
Gauge:
20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on larger needles
Sizing:
This pattern is available in sizes S (M, L, XL) corresponding to chest measurements of 36 (40, 44, 48) inches.
Instructions:
- Using smaller needles and Navy Blue yarn, cast on 100 (110, 120, 130) stitches. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 2 inches.
- Switch to larger needles and Light Blue yarn. Begin the fair isle pattern following the chart provided.
- Continue in the fair isle pattern until piece measures 16 (17, 18, 19) inches from cast on edge.
- Shape armholes: Bind off 5 (6, 7, 8) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Decrease 1 stitch at each armhole edge every other row 3 times.
- Continue in pattern until armholes measure 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5) inches.
- Shape neck: Work across 30 (35, 40, 45) stitches, place center 40 (40, 40, 50) stitches on holder, join a new ball of yarn and work across remaining 30 (35, 40, 45) stitches.
- Work each side of neck separately, decreasing 1 stitch at neck edge every other row 3 times. Work even until neck measures same as armholes.
- Join shoulder seams.
- Collar: With smaller needles and Navy Blue yarn, pick up and knit stitches around the neck opening. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 1.5 inches. Bind off in pattern.
