Summer Breeze Knit Shorts Pattern

Description:

Materials:

• Yarn: Sport weight cotton yarn (UK - Double Knitting, Metric - 5 ply, US - Light Worsted) in your choice of color - approximately 300g (350 meters)
• Needles: US 6 (UK 8, Metric 4mm) straight knitting needles
• Crochet hook: US G/6 (UK 8, Metric 4mm) for finishing edges
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:

22 stitches x 30 rows = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch

Size:

One size fits most (adjustable waistband)

Pattern:

1. Front Panel:

Cast on 60 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch for 10 inches.

2. Back Panel:

Same as front panel.

3. Waistband:

With right side facing, pick up 80 stitches along the top edge of front panel. Work in 1x1 rib for 2 inches. Bind off.

4. Assembly:

Sew side seams of front and back panels. Fold waistband over and seam to inside of shorts. Using crochet hook, single crochet around leg openings for a clean edge.

5. Finishing:

Weave in all ends and block to measurements.
