Andean Alpaca Cowl Knitting Pattern

Overview

Wrap yourself warm this autumn with our gorgeously soft and intricate Andean Alpaca Cowl. Perfect for knitters wanting to enhance their skills, this pattern navigates through cables, ribbing and front stitch double decreases. The result: a cosy, chunky cowl that's a joy to create and wear. Let's get started!

Materials

Instructions

  1. Cast on 120 stitches. Place marker and join for knitting in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches.
  2. Rounds 1-8: *K2, P2* repeat to end.
  3. Round 9: *K2, P2, C6F* repeat to end.
  4. Rounds 10-16: Repeat rounds 1-8.
  5. Round 17: *C6B, K2, P2* repeat to end.
  6. Repeat rounds 9-17 until the work measures 10 inches from the cast on edge.
  7. Next, repeat rounds 1-8 one more time.
  8. Then, bind off in rib pattern.
  9. Finally, weave in all loose ends using your yarn needle.

Remember, C6F means slip 3 stitches to the cable needle and hold at the front of the work, knit 3, then knit the 3 stitches from the cable needle. C6B involves holding the cable needle at the back of the work. If you need further clarification, check out our Cable Knitting Guide. Happy knitting!
