Aqua Green and Gold Granny Square Pattern

This pattern creates a beautiful 15 by 15 granny square blanket using aqua green and gold yarn. Each square measures approximately 5 inches (12.7 cm) when using a 4mm crochet hook.

Materials:

Instructions:

  1. Start with a magic ring using aqua green yarn.
  2. Round 1: Chain 3 (counts as 1 DC), 2 DC into the ring, chain 2. *3 DC into the ring, chain 2. Repeat from * two more times. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain. Fasten off.
  3. Round 2: Join gold yarn in any chain 2 space. Chain 3 (counts as 1 DC), 2 DC in the same space. *3 DC in the next chain 2 space. 3 DC, chain 2, 3 DC in the next chain 2 space (corner made). Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain. Fasten off.
  4. Repeat Round 2, alternating between aqua green and gold for each round, until the square reaches 15 by 15 squares.
  5. Weave in all ends and block your squares if necessary.
  6. Join the squares together using your preferred method.
  7. Border: Join aqua green yarn in any corner. Chain 3 (counts as 1 DC), 2 DC in the same space. *DC in each stitch across to the next corner. 3 DC, chain 2, 3 DC in the corner. Repeat from * around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain. Fasten off.
