Ladybug Granny Square Crochet Pattern
Create a cute and charming blanket or projects with this adorable ladybug granny square pattern.
Materials:
- Yarn: Medium weight yarn in black, red, and white
- US Hook Size: H/8 (5.0mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge:
4” x 4” = 16 dc x 8 rows
Finished Size:
Each square measures approximately 6 inches.
Abbreviations:
- Ch – chain
- Dc – double crochet
- Sc – single crochet
- Sl st – slip stitch
- St(s) – stitch(es)
Pattern:
- Start with a magic ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), 11 dc into the ring, join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3 (12 sts).
- Ch 3, 2 dc in each st around, join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3 (24 sts).
- Ch 3, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, repeat from * around, join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3 (36 sts).
- Change to black yarn. Ch 3, dc in each st around, join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3 (36 sts).
- Change to red yarn. Ch 1, sc in each st around, join with a sl st to the beginning sc (36 sts).
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
- To create the ladybug spots, use white yarn and surface slip stitch randomly on the red portion of the square.
