Pattern
- Cast on 100 stitches using long-tail cast on method.
- Join in the round, being careful not to twist stitches.
- Work in stockinette stitch for 10 inches.
- Begin decreases as follows: Row 1: *K8, k2tog; repeat from * to end. Rows 2 and all even rows: Purl. Row 3: *K7, k2tog; repeat from * to end. Continue in this manner, decreasing by 1 stitch before each k2tog, until only a few stitches remain.
- Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches, pull tight to close the top of the helmet, and secure.
- Sew on black mesh fabric for the face area, leaving room for the eyes and mouth.
- Stuff the helmet lightly with fiberfill for structure.
- Enjoy your Darth Vader knitted helmet!
