24 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
One size fits most adult feet
Cuff: Cast on 60 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist stitches. Work in a k2, p2 ribbing for 1 inch.
Leg: Switch to stockinette stitch (knit every round) and work until piece measures 5 inches from cast-on edge.
Heel Flap: Divide the stitches in half. Work back and forth on the first half of the stitches in stockinette stitch for 30 rows.
Turn Heel: Row 1 (RS): K18, ssk, k1, turn.
Row 2 (WS): P5, p2tog, p1, turn.
Row 3: K6, ssk, k1, turn.
Continue in this manner, working one more stitch each row until all stitches are used. End after completing a RS row.
Gusset: Pick up and knit 15 stitches along the edge of the heel flap. Knit across the instep stitches. Pick up and knit 15 stitches along the other side of the heel flap. Knit half of the heel stitches. (68 stitches total)
Foot: Knit until foot measures 8.5 inches from back of heel.
Toe: Round 1: Needle 1: Knit to last 3 stitches, k2tog, k1. Needle 2: K1, ssk, knit to end. Needle 3: Knit to last 3 stitches, k2tog, k1. Needle 4: K1, ssk, knit to end.
