Newborn Hat Knitting Pattern

Gauge:

22 stitches x 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Pattern:

1. Ribbed Rim:

Cast on 60 stitches.

Row 1: *K2, P2; repeat from * to end of row.

Row 2: Repeat Row 1.

Repeat Row 1 for a total of 4 inches.

2. Main Body:

Row 1: Knit across.

Row 2: Purl across.

Row 3: K3, *K2tog, YO, K3; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K2.

Row 4: Purl across.

Repeat Rows 1-4 until hat measures approximately 5 inches from cast on edge, ending with Row 2.

3. Decrease Section:
