Knitted Ribbed Unisex Beanie Pattern

Materials:
- Yarn: Medium Weight (4). Recommended Yarn: 1 skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease (Imperial: US 8/UK 6/Metric: 5mm)
- Needles: 16" circular knitting needles (Imperial: US 8/UK 6/Metric: 5mm) and double-pointed needles (Imperial: US 8/UK 6/Metric: 5mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge:
20 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in rib stitch
Instructions:
- Using the circular needles, cast on 88 stitches.
- Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches.
- Work in a K2, P2 rib stitch pattern for 9 inches.
- Switch to the double-pointed needles when the stitches become too tight on the circular needles.
- Continue the rib stitch pattern for 1 more inch.
- Begin decreasing: Round 1 - *K2, P2tog; repeat from * to end of round. Round 2 - *K1, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
- Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 until you have 8 stitches left.
- Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail through the remaining stitches, pull tight to close the top of the beanie, and secure.
- Weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
