This pattern is for a knitted cozy for a soda bottle, worked in the round using fingering weight yarn. This cozy will keep your drink cold and your hands dry!

Materials

Gauge

8 stitches and 10 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch

Instructions

  1. Using Judy's Magic Cast On, cast on 56 stitches evenly onto 4 double-pointed needles.
  2. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches.
  3. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 2 inches.
  4. Switch to stockinette stitch and knit every round until the piece measures 5 inches from the cast-on edge.
  5. Next round: *K2, K2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
  6. Knit 1 round.
  7. Next round: *K1, K2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
  8. Knit 1 round.
  9. Next round: *K2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
  10. Cut yarn, leaving a tail. Thread yarn through remaining stitches and pull tight to close the top of the cozy.
  11. Weave in ends and block if desired.
