Newborn Hat with Textured Dots

- Yarn: Light worsted weight yarn (US)/DK yarn (UK), approximately 50g (Imperial), 125m (Metric)
- Needles: US 6/UK 8 (Imperial), 4mm (Metric) double-pointed needles

Gauge:
22 stitches x 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Instructions:
- Cast on 64 stitches using long tail cast on method.
- Ribbing: *K2, P2* repeat to end of round. Repeat this round for 1 inch.
- Switch to stockinette stitch (knit all rounds) and knit for 3 inches.
- Textured Dots:
- Round 1: *K6, K2tog* repeat to end of round.
- Rounds 2-3: Knit all stitches.
- Round 4: *K5, K2tog* repeat to end of round.
- Rounds 5-6: Knit all stitches.
- Continue in this pattern, decreasing the number of knit stitches in between decreases until you have 8 stitches left.
- Finishing: Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches and pull tight to close the top of the hat. Weave in ends.
