Variegated Triangle Shawl Pattern
This bottom-up knitted shawl features eyelet edging on the sides only. The pattern includes sections of stockinette stitch and eyelet lace, alternating in equal chunks until the shawl reaches a wingspan of 100 inches.
Materials:
- Yarn: Variegated fingering weight yarn, 600g (3000 yards)
- Needles: US 6 (UK 8, 4mm) circular needles 40” long
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge:
24 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Instructions:
- Cast on 3 stitches
- Row 1: Knit
- Row 2: K1, yo, k to end
- Repeat Row 2 until you have 45 rows
- Next 18 rows: Eyelet Lace Pattern (see below)
- Next 45 rows: Stockinette stitch
- Repeat Eyelet Lace Pattern for 18 rows
- Continue alternating between Stockinette stitch and Eyelet Lace until the shawl measures 100 inches along the top edge
- Bind off all stitches
- Weave in ends and block your shawl to shape
Eyelet Lace Pattern:
Row 1: K1, *yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last stitch, k1
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: K2, *yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last stitch, k1
Row 6: Purl
Repeat these 6 rows for the Eyelet Lace Pattern
