Overview
This pattern will guide you on how to create a cozy and stylish crochet beanie. Ideal for beginners who want to take their crochet skills to the next level or experienced crafters looking for a quick project.
Materials
- 1 skein (100m/3.5 oz) of worsted weight yarn (10ply/ medium 4). We suggest using a soft wool blend for warmth and comfort.
- US size H/8 (5.0MM); UK size 6; Metric size 5.0MM crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Stitch markers
Instructions
- Create a slipknot and place it on your hook. Chain 3.
- In the third chain from your hook, make 10 double crochets (dc).
- Join with a slipstitch in the top of the initial three chains. You should have a small circle.
- Chain 2. In the same stitch, make 2 dc. Make two dc in each stitch around. Join with a slipstitch in the initial two chains (20).
- Chain 2. *2dc in next stitch, dc in next stitch*. Repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in the initial two chains (30).
- Continue to increase rounds, adding stitches to each round, until the beanie fits securely around your head.
- When your hat reaches the desired size, dc in each stitch around until the hat reaches your desired length.
- Cut your yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail through your yarn needle and weave in all ends.
