Cat Motif Cable Stitch Fingerless Gloves Pattern

Materials:

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (UK: Aran, Metric: 10 ply) in main color (MC) and contrasting color (CC)
• Needles: US 6 (UK 8, Metric 4mm) double-pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge
• Cable needle
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

Gauge:

20 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions:

Right Hand Glove:

1. Cuff: Using MC, cast on 32 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 2 inches.
2. Main Body: Switch to stockinette stitch and work even for 2 inches.
3. Cable Row: *C6F, K2, repeat from * to end of round.
4. Continue in stockinette stitch until glove measures 6 inches from cast on edge.
5. Thumb Opening: Transfer 6 stitches to scrap yarn, cast on 2 stitches over gap, continue in stockinette stitch for 1 inch.
6. Top: Decrease round: *K4, K2tog, repeat from * to end of round. Knit 1 round even. Repeat these 2 rounds until 8 stitches remain. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail, and thread through remaining stitches. Pull tight and secure.

Left Hand Glove: Work as for right hand glove, reversing cable twist to C6B instead of C6F.

Finishing: Weave in ends and block gloves to measurements.
