Pattern

1. Cast on 64 stitches using long tail cast on method and join in the round, being careful not to twist.
2. Round 1: *P2, K2; repeat from * to end of round.
3. Round 2: *P2, slip next 2 stitches to cable needle and hold in back, K2, K2 from cable needle; repeat from * to end of round.
4. Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 until work measures 8 inches from cast on edge.
5. Begin decreasing: Round 1: *P2tog, K2; repeat from * to end of round.
6. Round 2: *P1, K2; repeat from * to end of round.
7. Round 3: *K2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
8. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches and pull tight to close.
9. Weave in ends and block to shape.
