Gauge
Stitches: 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Notes
- This pattern is worked flat and seamed
- Adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge if needed
- Pattern uses basic knit and purl stitches, as well as simple decreases and increases
- Customize your unicorn colors as desired
Pattern
- Back: Cast on 80(90, 100, 110) stitches. Work in stockinette stitch for 16(18, 20, 22) inches.
- Shape armholes: Bind off 6(7, 8, 9) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Continue in stockinette on the remaining 68(76, 84, 92) stitches for 6(7, 8, 9) inches.
- Shape shoulders: Bind off 10(12, 14, 16) stitches at the beginning of the next 4 rows. Bind off remaining stitches.
- Front: Work as for back until armholes are shaped. Work even for 4(5, 6, 7) inches.
- Shape neck: Work across 34(38, 42, 46) stitches, place marker, join a new ball of yarn, bind off center 10(12, 14, 16) stitches, work to end. Working both sides at the same time, decrease 1 stitch at neck edge every other row 3 times. Work even until front matches back to shoulder.
- Shape shoulders: Bind off as for back.
- Sleeves (make 2): Cast on 36(40, 44, 48) stitches. Work in stockinette for 4 inches, increasing 1 stitch at each end every 3rd row 12(14, 16, 18) times. Work even in stockinette until sleeve measures 18(18, 19, 19) inches.
- Shape cap: Bind off 6(7, 8, 9) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Bind off 2 stitches at the beginning of the following 6 rows.
- Finishing: Sew shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams. Weave in ends. Block garment to measurements.
