Oversized Sweater with Set-In Sleeves Knitting Pattern

Instructions:

  1. Using long-tail cast on, cast on 90 (100, 110, 120) stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist stitches. Place marker for beginning of round.
  2. Work in half fisherman's rib pattern as follows:
    Round 1: *K1, P1; repeat from * to end.
    Round 2: Knit the purl stitches and purl the knit stitches.
  3. Continue in half fisherman's rib pattern until work measures approximately 6 inches.
  4. Shape raglan increases: *K1, M1R, K to 1 stitch before marker, M1L, repeat from * 3 more times, knit to end.
  5. Continue in half fisherman's rib, working raglan increases every other round, until there are 50 (56, 62, 68) stitches between markers.
  6. Separate sleeves: Transfer sleeve stitches to waste yarn or stitch holder. Cast on 8 (10, 12, 14) stitches under each arm.
  7. Body: Work in half fisherman's rib on body stitches until desired length.
  8. Join sleeves: Place sleeve stitches back on needles. Pick up and knit 2 stitches under each arm. Work in half fisherman's rib across all stitches.
  9. Continue in half fisherman's rib until sweater reaches desired length. Bind off loosely.
  10. Weave in ends and block sweater to measurements.
