Ribbed Bliss Hat Knitting Pattern

Description

Materials

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (4 - Medium)
• Needles: US 7 (4.5mm) and US 8 (5mm) double-pointed needles or circular needles
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch marker

Gauge

20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in ribbing pattern on larger needles

Size

One size fits most adults

Pattern

1. Using smaller needles, cast on 88 stitches. Join in the round, being careful not to twist, and place marker at the beginning of the round.
2. Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 1.5 inches.
3. Switch to larger needles and continue in K2, P2 ribbing until hat measures 8 inches from cast on edge.
4. Begin crown decreases as follows:
   • Round 1: *K2, P2, K2, P2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Round 2: *K2, P2, K1, P2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Round 3: *K2, P2tog, K1, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Round 4: *K2, P2, K1, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Round 5: *K2, P2tog, K1; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Round 6: *K2, P2, K1; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Round 7: *K2, P2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Round 8: *K2, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Round 9: *K2tog; repeat from * to end of round.
   • Cut yarn, leaving a tail, and thread through remaining stitches. Pull tight and secure.
5. Weave in ends and block hat to measurements.
