Sanrio Azuki Knitted Doll Pattern

Materials:

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in red, white, black, and yellow
• Needles: US 4 (3.5mm) knitting needles
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing

Gauge:

24 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Instructions:

Body:

1. With red yarn, cast on 12 stitches.
2. Row 1: Knit across.
3. Row 2: Purl across.
4. Repeat Rows 1-2 until the piece measures 6 inches.
5. Next row: Knit 6, place marker, knit 6.
6. Continue in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 10 inches.
7. Head shaping:
8. Row 1: Knit to 2 stitches before marker, knit 2 together, slip marker, knit 2 together, knit to end of row.
9. Row 2: Purl across.
10. Repeat Rows 1-2 until 4 stitches remain.
11. Bind off.

Arms (Make 2):

1. With red yarn, cast on 6 stitches.
2. Knit every row until the piece measures 4 inches.
3. Bind off.
4. Using mattress stitch, sew the arms to the sides of the body.

Face:

1. With white yarn, cast on 12 stitches.
2. Knit every row until the piece measures 4 inches.
3. Bind off.
4. Sew the face to the top of the body.

Details:

• Eyes: With black yarn, embroider French knots for eyes.
• Mouth: With red yarn, embroider a smile.
• Cheeks: With yellow yarn, embroider two tiny circles for cheeks.

Finishing:

Stuff the body and sew the bottom closed. Weave in any loose ends.
