Sleeveless Funnel Neck Cabled Vest

Description:

Materials:

Gauge:

20 stitches x 26 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Size:

Pattern is written for size M. Adjustments for other sizes provided in parentheses.

Instructions:

Back:

1. Using long tail cast on, cast on 100 (120, 140) stitches.
2. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 2 inches.
3. Begin cable pattern:

Row 1 (RS): K5, p2, k6, p2, k16, p2, k6, p2, k16, p2, k6, p2, k5

Row 2 (WS) and all even rows: Purl all stitches as they present.

Continue in cable pattern until piece measures 15 (16, 17) inches from cast on edge, ending with a WS row.

Front:

Work as for back until piece measures 12 (13, 14) inches from cast on edge, ending with a WS row.

Shape armholes:

1. Bind off 6 (7, 8) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows.
2. Continue in pattern until front measures same as back to shoulder, ending with a WS row.

Finishing:

Join shoulder seams. Pick up stitches around armholes and neck to work ribbing for edging. Block to measurements.

Seaming:

Using mattress stitch, seam sides of the vest.
