Whale Sweater Knitting Pattern

Gauge:
20 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch with larger needles

Instructions:
- Using the larger needles, cast on the appropriate number of stitches for your size.
- Work in rib stitch (k1, p1) for 2 inches.
- Switch to stockinette stitch and work until piece measures desired length from underarm.
- Shape armholes by binding off stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows.
- Continue working in stockinette stitch until piece measures the desired length from the cast on edge to the shoulder.
- Shape shoulders by binding off stitches at the beginning of the next rows.
- Join shoulder seams using mattress stitch.
- With smaller needles, pick up stitches around the neck and work in rib stitch for 1 inch.
- Weave in all ends and block your sweater to finish.
