Women's Cowl Neck Jumper

Materials:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (UK: Aran, Metric: 10 ply) in your choice of color - approximately 900 yards (823 meters)
- Needles: US 8 (UK 6, Metric 5mm) and US 10 (UK 4, Metric 6mm) knitting needles
- Crochet Hook: US H/8 (UK 6, Metric 5mm)
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
Gauge:
18 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch using larger needles

Instructions:
- Back Panel:
Cast on 80 (88, 96, 104) stitches with smaller needles.
- Continue in stockinette stitch until piece measures 12 (12.5, 13, 13.5) inches.
- Shape armholes: Bind off 6 (7, 8, 9) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Then decrease 1 stitch at each end of the next 4 rows.
- Work even until armhole measures 8.5 (9, 9.5, 10) inches.
- Shape shoulders: Bind off 10 (11, 12, 13) stitches at the beginning of the next 4 rows.
- Front Panel:
Work same as back panel until armhole measures 7.5 (8, 8.5, 9) inches.
- Shape neck: Work across 30 (32, 34, 36) stitches, place center 20 (24, 24, 28) stitches on holder, join second ball of yarn and work remaining stitches.
- Work each side separately, decreasing 1 stitch at the neck edge every other row, and shaping shoulders as for back panel.
- Cowl:
With larger needles, pick up and knit 100 (110, 120, 130) stitches around the neck opening. Work in rib stitch for 5 inches, then bind off all stitches.
- Finishing:
Sew side and shoulder seams. Attach cowl to neck opening. Weave in all ends.
