Gauge
18 stitches x 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Instructions
- Using the long-tail cast on method, cast on 90 (S), 100 (M), 110 (L), 120 (XL) stitches in red yarn.
- Work in knit 2, purl 2 ribbing for 2 inches.
- Switch to green yarn and knit in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 10 (S), 11 (M), 12 (L), 13 (XL) inches from the cast on edge.
- For the front, create a tree motif using white and gold yarns in the center of the jumper.
- Continue knitting in stockinette stitch in red yarn, shaping the neckline and armholes as needed.
- Knit the back piece in the same manner as the front.
- Join the front and back pieces at the shoulders using the mattress stitch.
- Pick up stitches along the neckline and knit ribbing for 1 inch.
- Finish off the armholes and bottom hem with ribbing as well.
- Weave in any loose ends and block the jumper to size.
