Foxy Christmas Tree Ornament

Materials:

• Yarn: Sport weight yarn in orange, white, and green (20g each)
• Needles: US 2 (2.75mm), UK 12, Metric 2.75mm
• Toy stuffing
• Yarn needle

Gauge: Not critical for this project.

Abbreviations:

• k - knit
• p - purl
• st(s) - stitch(es)
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease

Fox:

Body:

With orange yarn, cast on 6 sts. Knit every row in garter stitch for 10 rows.

Next row: K2, inc1, k2, inc1, k2 (8 sts)

Continue in stockinette st (alternating knit and purl rows) until piece measures 6cm.

Next row: K1, dec1, k2, dec1, k1 (6 sts)

Knit 5 rows in garter stitch. Bind off.

Head (make 2):

With white yarn, cast on 4 sts. Knit every row in garter stitch for 6 rows. Bind off.

Ears (make 4):

With white yarn, cast on 3 sts. Knit every row in garter stitch for 4 rows. Bind off.

Assembly:

• Sew the two head pieces together.
• Attach the ears to the head.
• Sew the head to the body.
• Stuff the fox and sew up the base.

Christmas Tree:

With green yarn, cast on 12 sts. Knit every row in garter stitch for 10 rows.

Next row: K2, inc1, k8, inc1, k1 (14 sts)

Continue in garter stitch until the piece measures 12cm. Bind off.
