Pattern

  1. Cast on 120 stitches.
  2. Work in ribbing pattern (K2, P2) for 1 inch.
  3. Switch to stockinette stitch and knit even until piece measures 20 inches from cast on edge.
  4. Next, decrease 10 stitches evenly across the row to 110 stitches.
  5. Work in stockinette stitch for 2 more inches.
  6. Shape waist: Decrease 10 stitches evenly across the row to 100 stitches.
  7. Continue in stockinette stitch until piece measures 22 inches from cast on edge.
  8. Bind off all stitches.
  9. Sew side seam and weave in ends.
  10. Block skirt to measurements.
  11. Add elastic to waistband if desired.
