Spring Sweater Pattern for Mid Gauge Knitting Machine - Size Medium Women

Materials:
- Yarn: DK weight yarn (US) / 8 ply (UK) / 3 (Metric)
- Knitting Machine: Mid-gauge knitting machine
- Needle Size: US 6 / UK 8 / 4 mm for ribbing, US 7 / UK 7 / 4.5 mm for main body
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge:
22 sts x 28 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch with main body needle size
Instructions:
- Using the smaller needle size, cast on 120 sts for the ribbing. Work in K1, P1 rib for 1.5 inches.
- Switch to the larger needle size. Continue in stockinette stitch until piece measures 13 inches from the cast on edge.
- Shape armholes: Bind off 6 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Then decrease 1 st at each armhole edge every other row 5 times.
- Continue in stockinette stitch until armhole measures 8 inches.
- Shape shoulders: Bind off 6 sts at the beginning of the next 4 rows.
- Repeat for the back.
- Join front and back at shoulders using the mattress stitch.
- Sew side seams using the mattress stitch.
- Weave in all ends and block your sweater to measurements.
