Gauge:
14 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Instructions:
- Using the circular needles, cast on 80 (S), 88 (M), 96 (L) stitches
- Join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches
- Work in knit 2, purl 2 ribbing for 4 inches
- Continue in stockinette stitch until the piece measures 16 (S), 18 (M), 20 (L) inches from the cast on edge
- Shape armholes: Bind off 4 (S), 5 (M), 6 (L) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows
- Decrease round: *Knit 2 together, knit to 2 stitches before marker, ssk; repeat from * to end
- Repeat the decrease round every 4th row 4 more times
- Continue in stockinette stitch until the armhole measures 7 (S), 7.5 (M), 8 (L) inches
- Shape shoulders: Bind off 6 (S), 7 (M), 8 (L) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows
- Bind off remaining stitches
- Join shoulder seams using mattress stitch
- Pick up stitches around the armhole and work in the round to create ribbed arm cuffs
- Weave in all ends and block the sweater to finish
